Gianluca Noto

A civil engineer, with a specialising master’s degree in Management of the University and over 20 years of experience in the construction sector and in the technical area at the Politecnico di Milano, where he has been Director since October 2023. During his career he managed several projects of building development, valorization and regulatory adaptation of the real estate of the University. He has acquired knowledge and skills in project management and public works management. He has demonstrated excellent leadership and team management skills, contributing significantly to the continuous and innovative development of the campus.

Mission of the Division

Enhancing the real estate value of the University

The Division ensures the planning and coordination of building development interventions and the enhancement of the university's real estate assets according to the methods, procedures, and principles provided by public contract regulations. The main activity of the Division consists of managing the construction of new buildings and the renovation, restoration, and extraordinary maintenance of existing buildings.

The Division liaises with the competent bodies for the drafting of the three-year work program and collaborates in the drafting of the university's strategic plans, based on which it defines the annual list of works; the Division staff manage the process of interventions from the design phase to testing, including the tender procedures within their competence. In implementing the program, the Division ensures that building interventions comply with current regulations, sustainability principles, and energy consumption reduction objectives. Additionally, it carries out inspection, control, and verification activities of projects with the PoliMi-Isp structure, a type C inspection body accredited according to the UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17020:2012 standard.
