The Politecnico doctoral community, consisting of more than 2,000 doctoral candidates, is at the heart of the institution's research. Our PhD students contribute to all our research projects. Depending on their research focus, they have the opportunity to undertake visiting periods in prestigious international research labs, collaborate with our industrial partners, or receive support from our startup accelerator to promote their own ideas.
Our offer
PhD Programmes
The doctoral program typically lasts 3 to 4 years. It also includes disciplinary courses, where PhD students delve into cutting-edge topics, and soft-skills training, where they develop transferable skills.
Upon successful defense of their thesis, candidates earn one of the 20 thematic PhD degrees currently offered by Politecnico di Milano.
