Support to negotiations and contracts

The Research Service provides support in the review of the agreements required to submit a proposal (Temporary Associations of Companies, collaboration agreements, Memorandum of Understanding, Letters of intent) and it organizes seminars and ad hoc thematic training. This service is supported by the Administration of the Department which often acts as interface for the Research Service.

The Research Service offers support in the review of partnership agreements. Since these agreements are signed on the basis of projects that are about to start, a specific service is offered that varies according to the role of the University.

If the University is the project coordinator, the professor or Department Manager is provided, at his request, with a template agreement that is modified according to specific needs and that is sent to the partners directly by the said professor. The professor will receive the partners' comments and discuss them with the Research Service so as to improve the agreement according to the different requests/needs. If the agreement contains important intellectual property issues to be checked, the Research Service will refer to the Technology Transfer Office to verify their content. The Research Service will then provide comprehensive feedback to the relevant professor.

If the University acts as a project partner, the professor or Department Manager can send the agreement, together with the project, to the Research Service. The Research Service will review the agreement in a reasonable time, consistently with the needs of the professor and of the Service. If the agreement contains important intellectual property issues to be checked, the Research Service will refer to the Technology Transfer Office to verify their content. The Research Service will then provide comprehensive feedback to the relevant professor.

The Research Service offers support in the review of MoUs (Memorandum of Understanding). Since these agreements are signed at a stage when specific projects have not been launched yet and thus have a very general content, the Research Service offers a template that needs to be changed from time to time according to the basic conditions of each agreement.

The Research Service provides support in the review of Letters of Intent that are required for the participation in European projects, checking their content. Where requested by the teaching staff or where deemed appropriate, the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) regulates, by drawing up a Letter of Intent, the negotiations with industrial partners to obtain further credit, reliance, trust in relation to completion of the negotiations that concern or involve University intellectual property.

The Research Service offers support in the review of Temporary Consortia. Since these agreements are signed on the basis of specific projects, the service offered varies according to the role of the University.

If the University is the project coordinator, the professor or Department Manager is provided, at his request, with a temporary consortium template that is modified according to the type of project concerned and that is sent to the partners directly by the said professor.
The professor will receive the partners' comments and discuss them with the Research Service so as to improve the agreement according to the different requests/needs. If the agreement contains important intellectual property issues to be checked which go beyond standard issues, the Research Service will refer to the Technology Transfer Office to verify their content. The Research Service will then provide comprehensive feedback to the relevant professor.

If the University acts as a project partner, the professor or Department Manager can send the agreement, together with the project and/or useful information, to the Research Service. The Research Service will review the agreement in a reasonable time, consistently with the needs of the professor and of the Service. If the agreement contains important intellectual property issues to be checked which go beyond standard issues, the Research Service will refer to the Technology Transfer Office to verify their content. The Research Service will then provide comprehensive feedback to the relevant professor.

The Research Service offers support in the review of Consortium Agreements. The service varies according to the role of the University within the framework of the project/proposal.

The professor will receive the partners' comments and discuss them with the Research Service so as to improve the agreement according to the different requests/needs.

If the agreement contains important intellectual property issues to be checked which go beyond standard issues, the Research Service will refer to the Technology Transfer Office to verify their content. The Research Service will then provide comprehensive feedback to the relevant professor.

If the University acts as a Subcontractor within the framework of research projects, the Research Service offers its support by reviewing the contents of the Subcontract, where the document is provided by the Entity for which the performance is rendered, or it provides an ad hoc template. In any event, the Research Service provides such support to the professor or Department Manager applying therefor.
