Welcome week
At the beginning of each semester, the Politecnico di Milano organizes a Welcome Week for exchange and double degree students. During the event, you participate in orientation activities that include seminars with the academic coordinators, workshops and leisure moments. By the end of the week, you will have completed your administrative duties (e.g. identification, submission of the study plan), gained insights into Polimi and the City of Milan, and have had the opportunity to meet many new friends and classmates
The Welcome Week for the Spring semester a.y. 2024-2025 will be held in February 2025. Detailed info will be published in January.
Identification
Student identification is a mandatory procedure that involves verifying the ID card or passport (and visa if applicable) you uploaded during your online application.
This procedure is crucial for your stay as an exchange student at Polimi, it enables the validation of your exams (without identification your marks won't be recorded in your Transcript of Records at the end of mobility period) and it also grants you access to the Polimi Wi-Fi network.
Policard
The Policard is the student card that grants you access to on-campus facilities and can also be activated as a prepaid credit card at the "Banca Popolare di Sondrio".
To obtain it, you need to request it through the online services > Policard: activation, status and reissue. Once your Policard is issued, you will receive an email with the instructions on where and when to collect it.
Final Learning Agreement
If you are an Erasmus student, you should complete the Learning Agreement, the document which outlines the courses you will take at Polimi and will be validated by your home institution. Check with your home institution which form you have to fill in (Learning Agreement or Online Learning Agreement).
- Complete your LA or OLA with the courses you will attend at Polimi.
- Ensure that your Polimi study plan and LA or OLA correspond.
- If you need to change your previous LA or OLA, you will have to modify it filling out the “during the mobility” section and get it signed again by all parties involved (home and host universities) to obtain the final Learning Agreement.
- For LA send the document to the academic coordinator of the study programme you attend at Polimi:
- Engineering: please consult the academic coordinators list
- Architecture: consult the promoters list and for more info visit the dedicated page on the School of Architecture website
- Design: consult the School of Design website or send an email
- For OLA: the responsible person at Polimi will receive your final Learning Agreement through the Erasmus+ Dashboard.
