In order to be admitted to the Laurea Magistrale programme, the Politecnico di Milano requires certified proficiency in English according to the levels indicated in the table on the page Students on Laurea Magistrale programmes.
For more information on certificates and certification bodies, see the External bodies for the certification of language proficiency.
International certificates are accepted regardless of the year in which they were obtained.
How to self-certify english language proficiency
When you apply for admission, you must self-certify your knowledge of English at the level required for admission: upload your certificate, if you already have it, or a certificate proving that you passed the test with the required marks.
If you don't yet have a certificate, you can continue with the application process by selecting 'Next'.
When to self-certify English language proficiency
The deadlines vary depending on the School delivering the programme:
- School of Architecture Urban Planning Construction Engineering (AUIC): by the admissions deadline
- School of Design: by the admissions deadline
- SCHOOL OF CIVIL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND LAND MANAGEMENT ENGINEERING (INGCAT): by the enrolment deadline
- School of Industrial and Information Engineering: by the enrolment deadline
For further information, we recommend that you consult the educational regulations for the programme on the website of the School
Following enrolment, you will be contacted by the Registrar’s Office to arrange presentation of the original certificate that you uploaded with your application.
You must make sure that you have the original copy, as if a certificate is found to be missing during application checks, this may lead to your enrolment being revoked.
However, students who took the test at an institution which sends the results electronically to the Politecnico di Milano do not need to submit the original certificate.
