My PhD research examines how to redesign urban public spaces to meet the educational needs and perspectives of young children, ensuring their right to the city and their participation in urban space planning

I come from AHVAZ - IRAN

I am currently pursuing a PhD in electrical engineering at the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering (DEIB), focusing my research on metrology, machine learning, digital signal processing, and applied embedded systems, especially in developing data-driven techniques to detect anomalous smart energy meters.

Having the solid academic indicators of Polimi in mind, I chose this institution because of its advanced research environment, interdisciplinary approach, and innovative teaching methods, all of which I believe will prepare one effectively for both academia and industry.

I like Polimi for its vibrant international community and its strong industry-supported research foundation. I am confident that being part of the PoliMi family will shape one into a skilled engineer and researcher, able to address real-world challenges and contribute to state-of-the-art research. I chose Polimi because the project I would have joined if selected was a great opportunity: field work, test of a real world pilot action, cooperation with Italian and international partners, the possibility to research the topics I’m most interested about. Also, I graduated here both in the Bachelor’s and Master’s, so I knew the campus and people around here and in Milan.

I like Polimi because it gives you opportunities to meet other PhD students and people working here, the Leonardo campus has been renovated and combines historical architecture with green spaces and sports opprtunities.

Research line: Telecommunications

My research topics: signal processing for wireless communications, specifically focused on the topic of reconfigurable intelligent surfaces. My main areas of research are aggregated interference analysis and reflective intelligent surfaces. I have graduated my M.Sc. in telecommunications from Politecnico di Milano, and my B.Sc. in electronics engineering from the university of Tabriz, Iran.

I speak Turkish, Persian, English, and a bit of Italian

I chose the PhD program of Polimi, because not only it is one of the top ranked universities in Europe and world, but also it is quite active in my field of interest.  

I like Polimi, because it provides the opportunity to collaborate with expert knowledgeable researchers and professors in my field, and also because it provides the chance for creativity and imagination, in your field of interest. I chose Polimi because regarding Engineering, it is a quite well appreciated university, with professors whose research is quite intimate with industry. This provides a great opportunity for personal development, allowing to learn and grow not only in the academic field, but also in the industrial one

I like Polimi because it has provided me with a great education. From the academic point of view, during the MsC in Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology I acquired a precious knowledge that I am currently applying to my PhD. But apart from the academic journey, I also had the opportunity to follow many interesting activities such as visiting Ferrari in Maranello or the ENI research centre, attending some international conferences in which I had the chance of networking with top researchers in my field, or even, from a more cultural perspective, attend a concert at la Scala di Milano. All this activities have been very enriching at a professional and personal level
